I have long heard that one of my favorite brands agnès b, which always keens to sponsor art activities and presents its products in an artistic atmosphere. I finally saw how it works last weekend.

This time agnès b is incollaboration with Taiwanese singer-songwriter Cheer Chen to launch a photography exhibition: Trip to Cuba. Each penny earned from the exhibition will be donated to Chinese Childrenhome & Shelter Association.

I’ve never been to Cuba before and don’t know much about this country. But I know Cheer, a talented and resourceful singer; you can always find out from her songs how she sees this world in a different perspective. Cheer took an adventurous journey to the Caribbean island and introduced us the local’s life with her different series of photography: Time and Life, Back against Havana, The Story of Rain and Faces.

Half part of Eslite Xinyi Store’s 1st floor is contributed to agnès b with its retail store and café next to the photography exhibition, and it’s easy for show watchers to follow the arranged route, check out what the store has to offered and end up having a cup of coffee and some desserts at the café. Clever!

However, it’s a pity that the Havana flavor doesn’t extend to the retail store, which not a single Caribbean element is found on either the clothing or accessories.

I really appreciate that other than fashion, agnès b put its passion on photography and art activities, which in my opinion, helps the brand to stand out among the others. In the fashion industry, brand image matters. Whenever people think of agnès, they will instantly connect the brand with art. You hardly see it put on a magazine spread or TV commercials; however, its “low-key” marketing strategy corresponding to its Simplism design style definitely gets the message across. Sometimes, being quiet instead of making loud noises reaches an even larger audience.
